Paus
Paus is an interactive bracelet system that sparks social interaction through Stockholm-inspired minimalism and intuitive activation.
Prototyping of the bracelets’ lighting system was developed using Arduino, neopixel light strips, and a magnet-activated reed switch.
A studio project focused on creating bold, expressive “ear art”, designed for a difficult-to-fit area of the body and meant to elicit conversation.
Brainstorming bold designs intended to fit in and around 3-dimensional shape of the ear
Working with a 3D scan of my own ear, I patched and isolated the scan of the ear as a base on which to model and iterate on the ear art piece.
Early iterations took on a rough 2D form factor, while later designs used 3D scans of my arms to create a more dynamic look.
The final product considers the subtle magic in our language’s turns of phrase, and brings to life the metaphor behind its titular expression.
